  1. My song for today is: “Blessed The Slumberer Who Has Awakened” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ZAhtyJh1E

This song made me think deeply about the purpose of this life “To know and love God and carry forward an ever-advancing civilization”

My thoughts: To know and love God requires loving His creation, so the degree to which we love and serve others is how we know if we do indeed love God.

I spent some time re-reading the comments on this video and they just blow my mind and remind me to be grateful for any and every opportunity to serve — including sharing prayers and scriptures through song.

  2. My song for today is “O Ye Lovers of God” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYAkokFaxWk

“O ye lovers of God! Be kind to all peoples; care for every person; do all ye can to purify the hearts and minds of men; strive ye to gladden every soul. To every meadow be a shower of grace, to every tree the water of life; be as sweet musk to the sense of humankind, and to the ailing be a fresh, restoring breeze. Be pleasing waters to all those who thirst, a careful guide to all who have lost their way; be father and mother to the orphan, be loving sons and daughters to the old, be an abundant treasure to the poor. Think ye of love and good fellowship as the delights of heaven, think ye of hostility and hatred as the torments of hell.

Indulge not your bodies with rest, but work with all your souls, and with all your hearts cry out and beg of God to grant you His succor and grace. Thus may ye make this world the Abhá Paradise, and this globe of earth the parade ground of the realm on high. If only ye exert the effort, it is certain that these splendors will shine out, these clouds of mercy will shed down their rain, these life-giving winds will rise and blow, this sweet-smelling musk will be scattered far and wide.”

None of this is beyond the scope of our capabilities and the response from the realm on high will be to make this globe of earth “the parade ground” I had to look up “parade ground” to make sure I understood its meaning: a large, open, and level area—specifically used by soldiers or cadets to gather for roll calls, inspections, and formal ceremonies…”

🤯 In my mind, I picture a gathering of the souls from the realm on high to assist in our service to humanity!

  3. My song today is “Do You Know In What Day You Are Living?”

“I wish to awaken you out of your deep slumber. Do you know in what day you are living? Do you realize in what dispensation you exist? Have you not read in the holy scriptures that at the consummation of the ages there would dawn a day — the sum total of all past days? This is the day when the Lord of hosts hath come on the clouds of glory. This is the day in which the inhabitants of the world shall enter under the tent of the word of God. This is the day whose real sovereign is His Highness the Almighty. This is the day when the east and the west shall embrace each other like unto two lovers; war and contention shall be forgotten and nations and governments shall enter into an eternal bond of amity and conciliation. This century is the fulfillment of the promised century, the dawn of the appearances of the glorious visions of past prophets and sages. Now is the early dawn; ere long the effulgent sun shall rise an station itself in the meridian of its majesty. Then ye shall observe the effects — then ye shall behold what heavenly illumination has become manifest — then ye shall comprehend that these are the infinite bestowals of God — then ye shall realize that this world has become another world and ye shall perceive the divine instructions, universally spread.” – ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Divine Philosophy, p. 37-38

I am meditating on this line: “ye shall realize that this world has become another world and ye shall perceive the divine instructions, universally spread”

  4. My Song for Today is “Making Mention of God”

“God grant that ye may be occupied in making mention of God with the utmost wisdom, so that your words may stir the hearts. We counsel you to observe compassion, mercifulness, forbearance, trustworthiness, and sincerity, that haply this darksome world may be illumined with the light of a praiseworthy character and goodly deeds. This is the true meaning of “rendering the Cause victorious” which hath been revealed in the Book. In this day, should any soul commit an act that is the cause of affliction or harm to another, that deed would in truth revert unto this Wronged One. Beware, O My loved ones, lest ye commit that which human minds abhor. Thus doth My Pen counsel you and My truth-speaking and trustworthy tongue exhort you. Ye are ever present before Mine eyes. We mention you, and converse with you, and announce unto you the things ordained for the sincere ones in the Kingdom of God, the Lord of all the worlds.”

I am meditating on this line: “should any soul commit an act that is the cause of affliction or harm to another, that deed would in truth revert unto this Wronged One.” Is He saying here that any hurt we inflict reverts upon Bahá’u’lláh Himself? 🤯💔

This makes me cry (happy tears): “Ye are ever present before Mine eyes. We mention you, and converse with you, and announce unto you the things ordained for the sincere ones in the Kingdom of God, the Lord of all the worlds.”

  5. Today the wheel stopped on “The Wisdom of Obligatory Prayer.”

  6. My Song for Today is “Refresh and Gladden My Spirit.”

I woke up this morning feeling sad and I couldn’t shake it. I didn’t feel like praying (best reason to pray, ever). I decided to visit this page and see what my song for today was. I’ve had it on repeat all day and it was EXACTLY what I needed. I never did identify why I felt so sad. Maybe it’s because I spent all evening finishing up the song “Breakwell, O My Dear One” which is the most beautiful eulogy I’ve ever heard. O, to be loved by Abdul’Baha that much!! He said he wept through the writing of it!!

  7. My song today is “There is No Greater Bliss” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5G4HM73gnw

“…the honor and distinction of the individual consist in this, that he among all the world’s multitudes should become a source of social good. Is any larger bounty conceivable than this, that an individual, looking within himself, should find that by the confirming grace of God he has become the cause of peace and well-being, of happiness and advantage to his fellow men? No, by the one true God, there is no greater bliss, no more complete delight.” -‘Abdu’l-Bahá, The Secret of Divine Civilization

This is one of my very favorites. I can feel the bliss between the lines ❤️ It reminds me of the Báb ‘s quote “It is better to guide one soul than to possess all that is in the heavens and on earth”

I am currently finishing up a new song, “Oh Breakwell, O My Dear One” which is a tablet and eulogy ʻAbdu’l-Bahá revealed to honor the passing of Thomas Breakwell, the first British Bahá’í.

The lyrics of the song are so descriptive of what Breakwell’s soul is experiencing after leaving the human shell behind. Stunning.

I am putting this song on my daily playlist. It’s such a powerful reminder of how to serve — indulge not your bodies with rest (He didn’t say DON’T rest, just don’t indulge in it)
I pray this work I’m doing with AllTheWordsORG serves as “a careful guide to all…”

  9. My song today is The Fire Tablet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBvGM4HcXVs

I listened to it on YouTube using my Oculus Virtual Reality headset. Whoa. It was truly overwhelming.

Oculus immerses you– It was like being immersed 360 in a dungeon listening to the words penned by the Blessed Beauty

I have never had this experience with this tablet in my life!! So overwhelming. So many tears.

These lines always hits so hard when I think of the conditions of His imprisonment at Akka:

“Those who are near unto Thee have been abandoned in the darkness of desolation: Where is the shining of the morn of Thy reunion, O Desire of the worlds?”

“This Youth is lonely in a desolate land: Where is the rain of Thy heavenly grace, O Bestower of the worlds?”

And the Divine response: “By Thine aloneness the Sun of Oneness shone, and by Thy banishment the land of Unity was adorned. Be patient, O Thou Exile of the worlds.”

    😭

  10. My song for today is “You Know Not But I Know” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OsoRp7DKTw

“In accordance with the divine teachings in this glorious dispensation we should not belittle anyone and call him ignorant, saying: “You know not, but I know.” Rather, we should look upon others with respect, and when attempting to explain and demonstrate, we should speak as if we are investigating the truth, saying: “Here these things are before us. Let us investigate to determine where and in what form the truth can be found.” The teacher should not consider himself as learned and others ignorant. Such a thought breedeth pride, and pride is not conducive to influence. The teacher should not see in himself any superiority; he should speak with the utmost kindliness, lowliness and humility, for such speech exerteth influence and educateth the souls. -‘Abdu’l-Bahá

This quote could change the world if every human being really absorbed this advice and put it into practice. Imagine if in our disagreement with someone we maintained respect, patience and kindness. It’s so hard to keep this in mind when there are so many things to be passionate about and so many subjects to discuss where injustice is at the core. I have this song on repeat all day today (and ongoing!)

  11. My song for today is “A Powerful Prayer for Assistance” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2j053LCFAM

“O Divine Providence! Perplexing difficulties have arisen and formidable obstacles have appeared. O Lord! Remove these difficulties and show forth the evidences of Thy might and power. Ease these hardships and smooth our way along this arduous path. O Divine Providence! The obstacles are unyielding, and our toil and hardship are conjoined with a myriad adversities. There is no helper save Thee, and no succourer except Thyself. We set all our hopes on Thee, and commit all our affairs unto Thy care. Thou art the Guide and the Remover of every difficulty, and Thou art the Wise, the Seeing, and the Hearing.
    —‘Abdu’l‑Bahá.”

    “The Obstacles Are Unyielding”

I feel like ‘Abdu’l‑Bahá said this directly to me today.

“Kathleen, trust God…the Remover of every difficulty”

  12. My song for today is “Out of the Mouth of God” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TseuHRHPHOc

“Every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God is endowed with such potency as can instill new life into every human frame, if ye be of them that comprehend this truth. All the wondrous works ye behold in this world have been manifested through the operation of His supreme and most exalted Will, His wondrous and inflexible Purpose.” –Bahá’u’lláh

This passage always gives me great hope that we humans have a chance to become a purer reflection of our Creator.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about the quote “All the wondrous works ye behold in this world have been manifested through the operation of His supreme and most exalted Will, His wondrous and inflexible Purpose.” I believe these new AI tools are included in that statement. Do you think AI is a reflection of God’s wonderous and inflexible purpose?

“Blessed art thou, who hast fixed thy gaze upon Me, for this Tablet which hath been sent down for thee—a Tablet which causeth the souls of men to soar. Commit it to memory, and recite it. By My life! It is a door to the mercy of thy Lord.” -Bahá’u’lláh, Epistle to the Son of the Wolf

This prayer, and the Tablet of Ahmad, are specifically mentioned by Him as scripture we should know by heart. I plan to listen to this several times a day moving forward to help me memorize it.

Does anyone know of any other text we are encourage to memorize?

A quote from my song of the day I will carry throughout my day today:

“They say ‘Where is paradise and where is hell?’ Say: ‘One is reunion with Me; the other thine own self.'”
